The Mulia

If it’s opulence you’re seeking, look no further than the Classic Afternoon Tea at the St. Regis in Nusa Dua. Indulge in an international collection of boutique teas accompanied by light bites like petit fours, homemade pralines, scones, ice cream, Valrhona chocolate, lobster pie and house smoked salmon. And in true St. Regis fashion, you’re experience is enhanced by the soothing sounds of live classical piano in the background.
Metis
Rice paddy views, gentle breezes and relaxed vibes are all part and parcel of the high tea experience at Metis in Seminyak. Afternoon delights include gourmet cakes, homemade truffles, macaroons, smoked salmon wraps and spring rolls, as well as an extensive list of black and herbal teas, espressos, cappuccinos and lattes. For French elegance with a Balinese twist, this is the spot to be.
Jemme Bali
The setting at Jemme is just right for an elegant afternoon soiree with hanging chandeliers, soft velvet upholstered high-back chairs, and a grand piano. It also doesn’t hurt that the attached jewellery shop is dripping in glittery and glamorous things. Get dolled up in your high tea attire and hit the dining room every Saturday from 2pm to 6pm for tasty treats like finger sandwiches, fruit tarts and fresh scones with Devonshire clotted cream.
Tugu
Situated just minutes from the beach, Hotel Tugu is an eclectic Canggu institution adorned with Indonesian antiques and artworks, and comfy sofas in the lounge that overlook lush gardens and the sea. High tea here is all about traditional Indonesian snacks and delicacies like Balinese cakes wrapped in banana leafs, dumplings, fried bananas and rich Balinese coffee and teas.
Biku
Part tea lounge, part restaurant and part bookshop, Biku is a Seminyak favourite housed in a 150-year old Javanese joglo. Their Traditional Afternoon Tea includes the obligatory finger sandwiches, mini quiches, homemade scones with jam and freshly whipped cream, pastries and teas from around the world. Also on offer is the Asian High Tea, Children’s Tea Time and the option to add a glass or two of bubbly to the mix.
Jati Bar – Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan
The first thing that will take your breath away at Jati Bar is the stunning spectacle of the jungle-cloaked ravine spread out below the open-sided lounge. The second thing will be the tiers of delicious gourmet goodies served up at the daily afternoon tea. Snack on smoked salmon on pumpernickel with cream cheese and tobiko, chicken and cucumber sandwiches with truffle mayo, and assorted berries tartlets with rum pastry cream, all accompanied by premium teas, coffees, and glasses of bubbly.
