Temple Bar & Lounge
Tippling at Temple Lounge & Bar is an exotic affair, as this clifftop locale is decked out in Moroccan decor like long banquettes with colourful cushions, whitewashed walls, and stained glass lanterns. Located atop Di Mare restaurant in the gorgeous Karma Kandara resort in Uluwatu, this sweet spot is a great place to kick back with a shisha and some Middle Eastern style tapas as you watch the waves crash 150 metres below.
Unique Rooftop Bar
Situated high atop RIMBA Jimbaran, the sister property to AYANA Resort & Spa, UNIQUE is a cool and contemporary space offering multi-level seating that affords great views over the treetops below and all the way out to the Indian Ocean. By day you can lounge by the 25-metre infinity pool or on one of the plush daybeds, and by night grab a seat at the central bar for cold beers, fresh fruit margaritas, and tasty Mexican cuisine.
Rock Bar
OK, so it’s not exactly on a rooftop, but it is smack dab on the top of a huge limestone outcropping that juts out into the Indian Ocean. Rock Bar is probably one of the most photographed bars in all of Asia for its unique location at the base of a cliff fronting the AYANA Resort & Spa, and its innovative design. The bar is surrounded by clear glass walls, so it seems as though you are hovering above the waves, and the surrounding terrace is built right into the cliffside. Come here at sunset for amazing views along with a few designer drinks and gourmet bites.
Double Six
Circular sunken booths seem to float in a curved moat at the edge of this unique rooftop locale that overlooks Double Six Beach and the Indian Ocean. Cocktails consist of premium spirits, fresh juices and infused sodas and syrups, and the cuisine has been specially curated by Robert Marchetti, one of Australia’s most renowned restaurateurs. Settle in for the sunset against plush cushions and amid soft ocean breezes, and indulge in honey pineapple mojitos and mini suckling pig sliders as the resident DJs spin smooth grooves.
La Plancha
Fun, colorful and laid-back to the max, La Plancha features an eclectic mix of comfy beanbag chairs directly on the sand at Double Six Beach and funky wooden furniture and vibrant umbrellas on their ground floor patio and open-air rooftop bar that overlooks the beach below and the rolling waves of the Indian Ocean. Spanish tapas and pitchers of sangria are the name of the game here, and the whole place exudes an easy-going surfer vibe.
