If you’ve ever wanted a Robinson Crusoe type of experience, the Elang Private Residence at Bawah Reserve is the place to do it.
Situated on its own private island, the residence features six lodges that can accommodate up to 19 people. Here you can spend your days lounging on the private beach, taking dips in the saltwater pool, and sampling gourmet cuisine next to the ocean. The cliffside lodges are outfitted with everything you need for a luxurious stay and they’re serviced by a private butler.

Originally designed to be the private residence of the Bawah Reserve owners, Elang Private Residence is now available for whole-island bookings. This spectacular property has multiple lodges and social areas set on one of Bawah Reserve’s six islands. You’ll have the whole island to yourself, including the lodges, Club House, Kayu Spa, and the Beach House restaurant. The island also has a private white sand beach, lush gardens, and a breezy bale. Guests also have full access to all the amenities at Bawah Reserve.
Perched on the side of a cliff overlooking the South China Sea, the lodges at Elang Private Residence boast tropical chic design with bamboo beams, canopied beds, and wooden balconies. The Longhouse is the biggest with two bedrooms, an open-plan living and dining room, and a full-width balcony. The remaining five lodges each have one bedroom with a king-size bed, ensuite bathroom, and balcony offering ocean views. Three of the one-bedroom lodges have outdoor bathtubs.
As if it wasn’t luxurious enough to have your own private island playground, Elang Residence also has a number of facilities designed to cater to your every whim. The Club House features an al fresco dining room where the chef can whip you up innovative creations based on your preferences. The Beach House is a casual dining spot on the private beach. Kayu Spa offers soothing spa treatments in a traditional Javanese joglo perched on the edge of a cliff. The island also has a stunning saltwater pool carved out of a huge rock next to the sea.
